SAN ANDRES ISLAND RC BOATING

FLITECRAFT

Updated June 2006

This was my first boat, and what a great choice it has been.

The boat choosen is a flitecraft MISS OUTLAW which comes in a cardboard box with everything needed to complete the boat, except for the radio and engine, the boat I bought is an ARR kit, which comes in with no paint or colors whatsoever an off white plastic color. The screws that come with kit are ok for fresh water users but since I live in an island I change all of them for Stainless Steel screws which I bought in a near by, hardware store that caters to real boat entusiast. Since I did not like the look of the boat as it comes in the kit , it was airbrush painted by a local artist using motorcyle gastank paint and then covered with a synthetic clear coat to protect the very good job done by the artist.

To protect some bit more the electronics in the boat, the servos and receiver seams where covered with silicone to make them water tight, and then just put in the plastic bags provided, I also followed the process of putting a lining of silicone around the outer lips of the well that holds the electronics and it seems to work fine at least for now. Here are some pictures of the unfinished and finished boat.

The boat as it looked before starting to work on it. . The engine and tank on the mount.

The finished boat with and with out some decals, I donīt liked them covered with declas so just a few where put on,the paint job is superb.

The radio is a Futaba Conquest 4 channel radio of which only two channels are used.

This is no longer made by Flitcraft, I had several copies made in fiberglass but they are not the same to heavy.
